Who We Are

Social Seed Uganda is built on a team of young leaders and community advocates dedicated to creating opportunities for rural youth. Together, we combine experience, vision, and passion to shape sustainable change.

Our Team

Member 1

Raymond Mwesigye Kategaya

Executive Director

Raymond has over 22 years of experience in teaching, training, project management, and monitoring & evaluation. He has held senior roles, including Director level positions, on projects funded by USAID, DFID, GIZ, UKAID, and the Mastercard Foundation. Raymond has also served in local government leadership, conducted consultancies in curriculum design and development, and led the Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Rwanda. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (Uganda Management Institute) and an M.A. in Curriculum Design, Media, and Instruction Studies (Makerere University, Kampala).

Salume Atuko

Human Resource & Field coordinator

Salume holds a B.Sc. in Human Resource Management from Makerere University and additional certifications in Microsoft Applications, Labour Standards, Financial Management, and PSEA. She has over four years of experience with local government and international NGOs, including CARE International and CorpsAfrica, in HR and field coordination roles. Passionate about development and human resource management, she brings expertise in project coordination, community mobilization, and capacity building to support sustainable social change.

Robert Asingwire

Project Manager & Community Enterprises

Robert has over 20 years of experience in supply chain management, strategic planning, procurement, and project sustainability. He has managed government projects in Uganda and provided consultancy in procurement, training, and community development with a focus on youth job creation and financial literacy. Robert is a certified member of the UK Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and holds an MBA from the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute, Tanzania, and a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Makerere University.

Sharon Asiimwe

Capacity Building & Training Specialist

Sharon is a trainer and entrepreneur with over three years of experience in youth and community empowerment. She has supported communities in Uganda to develop income generating activities and volunteered with CorpsAfrica/Uganda to advance opportunities for women, men, and young people. A member of the Rotaract Club of Makindye West, she has held multiple leadership roles and is skilled in Human Centered Design, Asset based Community Development, and team management. Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies with Education from Kyambogo University.

Najiwa Babirye

Resilience & Wellness Coordinator

Babirye holds a B.Sc. in Nursing from Mbarara University and is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at Makerere University. She has over three years of experience in nursing, community work, counseling, and project management, having worked with NGOs, hospitals, and training centers. At CorpsAfrica/Uganda, she empowered youth, women, and men through poverty alleviation initiatives, while at Nakasero Hospital she served as a critical care nurse. She is passionate about wellness, resilience, and psychosocial support, with experience in mentoring youth and guiding students toward personal and professional growth.

Dr. Job Ebenezer

Innovation Advisor

Over the years, Dr. Ebenezer has presented to organisations like USAID, the UN, Stanford, Ohio State University, MIT, and several other universities both in the US and abroad to encourage the use of the DPB. In 2006, Dr. Ebenezer retired and established a non-profit, Technology for the Poor, to promote the adoption of appropriate technology around the world.

Jason Mulhausen

Education & Skilling Advisor

Jason received his BA in Industrial Design from Ohio State University and his MA in New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He works primarily in the fields of visual art, film and video, and design; however, he has also worked extensively in the fields of agriculture, beekeeping, woodworking, metalworking, and mechanics. He worked as a project manager at Ann Hamilton Studio, and co-founded the Third Hand Bicycle Cooperative (Columbus, Ohio). He is currently focusing his energy on grassroots development projects through the non-profit organizations Technology for the Poor and Social Seed.

Mutamba Shibah Mutungi

Web & Digital Media Coordinator

Shibah oversees the NGO’s online presence by designing and maintaining the organization’s website, managing social media platforms, and ensuring clear, engaging communication with our community and connects with supporters worldwide.

Derrick Duncan Mwesigwa

Director of finance, resource mobilisation and partnerships

Derrick holds a Bachelor in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing with multiple certificates in CISCO and other computer applications, fundraising, and resource mobilization. He has over 30 years of experience in financial management, resource mobilization, and partnership development within the non-profit and social enterprise sectors. Skilled in developing sustainable financing strategies, managing donor relations, and ensuring effective utilization of organizational resources. Demonstrates strong leadership in mobilizing funds from diverse sources, including donors, government agencies, private sector partners, and community based initiatives. Derrick has worked in banks, government offices, private sector in the same roles and is a results oriented person.

Ashiraf Kakaire

Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist

Ashiraf holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Busitema University,Soroti, with multiple certificates in data analysis, crop management, integrated pest management, artificial insemination and breeding, environmental impact assessment, and value chain development. He has over three years of experience working with the local government and international NGOs as an Agricultural and extension officer. He is a dedicated and self-driven person with hands-on experience in project management, environmental advocacy, animal husbandry, entrepreneurship, and agricultural functions: strong interpersonal skills and a participatory leadership approach in driving social change and sustainable development.

Dr. Jimmy Ben Forry

Dr. Jimmy Ben Forry

Board Member

Dr. Jimmy Ben Forry holds an MBChB, MMed in Psychiatry, and is a PhD Fellow, bringing exceptional academic and clinical credentials to his work as a Consultant Psychiatrist, Senior Lecturer, and researcher. He serves as an Associate Consultant Psychiatrist at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at Kampala International University, where he contributes to the training of the next generation of health professionals in Uganda. As a National Master Trainer for Uganda's Ministry of Health, Dr. Forry has led large-scale capacity-building initiatives spanning mental health, psychosocial support, gender-based violence case management, and adolescent health across the country. His research is deeply rooted in trauma, humanitarian mental health, neuropsychiatry, and psychotraumatology, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and active international research collaborations dedicated to strengthening mental health systems in Uganda and the broader region. He has built strong partnerships with government institutions, academic bodies, and international development organizations, positioning him as a leading voice in evidence-based psychiatric care and public health innovation in East Africa. As a Board Member of Social Seed Uganda, Dr. Forry brings strategic leadership grounded in clinical expertise, governance experience, and a passionate commitment to community well-being, helping to guide the organization's mission of creating lasting social change and improving the lives of vulnerable communities.

Stella Uwera

Stella Uwera

Board Member & Operations Advisory

Stella is a highly experienced operations and customer service professional with over 22 years of progressive experience across banking, asset management, media, and healthcare industries. She has built a strong track record at institutions including Britam Asset Managers, Imperial Bank Uganda, WBS Television, Multichoice Uganda, and Skynet World Express, serving in roles spanning customer service, operations, public relations, and executive administration. At Britam Asset Managers, she has overseen client investment operations, fund reconciliations, business development, and board-level administration, including serving as Acting Personal Assistant to the General Manager. Her earlier career in banking at Imperial Bank sharpened her expertise in vault management, client instructions processing, and branch operations. As a PR Officer at WBS Television, she managed public communications, promotional campaigns, and stakeholder engagement. She holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Makerere University. As a Board Member of Social Seed Uganda, Stella contributes broad institutional knowledge, strong organizational leadership, and a deep commitment to client-centered service delivery and operational excellence in support of the organization's mission.

Victoria Nakimera

Victoria Nakimera

Board Member & Financial Advisory

Victoria is a seasoned financial services professional with over 20 years of experience in corporate credit, investment management, and relationship banking. She has held progressive roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays Bank, Absa Bank, and Uganda Development Bank, covering corporate credit analysis, credit administration, business banking relationship management, and investment oversight. Her expertise spans credit underwriting, financial analysis, risk management, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide risk frameworks. Beyond Uganda, Victoria has expanded her professional portfolio internationally, working as a Mortgage Agent with Pegasus and an Insurance Agent with Globe Life AIL in Ontario, Canada. She holds an MBA from Makerere University, a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Makerere University, and professional certifications in HLLQP and Mortgage Agency from Remic, Toronto. As a Board Member of Social Seed Uganda, she brings strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and deep experience in governance, donor resource management, and sustainable financing to support the organization's long-term growth and impact.
